The Orange County Regional History Center will host the fifth annual Women’s History Month Breakfast this Thursday at 8 a.m. This year’s theme, “Daring Women of the Skies,” celebrates the groundbreaking achievements of four pioneering aviators and their connections to Central Florida. They include Bessie Coleman, our nation’s first Black and Native American woman pilot, “Grace the Ace,” who flew reconnaissance out of Orlando during World War II; Ruth Elder, the first woman to attempt a transatlantic flight; and Betty Skelton, who set so many records she was known as the “First Lady of Firsts.”
