MetroWest continues to strengthen its commitment to safety and community well-being with the addition of three newly Crime Free Certified communities. Goldelm at MetroWest, Indigo West, and Vista Verde were formally recognized during a celebration hosted by the MetroWest Master Association at MetroWest Golf Club.
Crime Free Certification is a rigorous, multi-phase program that requires strong collaboration between property owners, management teams, and law enforcement. The process includes an eight-hour certification course, inspections conducted by the Orlando Police Department and Orlando Utilities Commission, and compliance with Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design principles.
According to MetroWest Master Association General Manager Julie Sanchez, achieving Crime Free Certification reflects a high level of dedication and long-term commitment. It is not a one-time designation, but an ongoing effort to promote safer living environments through education, design, and proactive management.
With the addition of these three communities, MetroWest is now home to 11 Crime Free Certified communities. Several others earned certification in 2018, including Alvista MetroWest, Amara at MetroWest, Central Park at MetroWest Condominium Association, Horizons at Stonebridge Place, The Residences at Veranda Park, Stonebridge Reserves, The Summit, and Vistas at Stonebridge Place.
MetroWest Public Safety, along with the Orlando Police Department, continues to work closely with local communities pursuing certification. Several additional neighborhoods are currently in the process of working toward this designation.
As one of Orlando’s first master-planned communities, MetroWest remains focused on initiatives that enhance safety, encourage collaboration, and improve quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
