More than 10,000 residents and visitors gathered at MetroWest Golf Club on July 2 to celebrate Independence Day at the fifth annual MetroWest MusicWORKS event. The free, public celebration once again showcased what makes MetroWest a vibrant place to live, work, and connect.
MusicWORKS 2023 featured live musical performances, food trucks, vendors, family-friendly activities, and a full evening of entertainment. The event concluded with a 20-minute fireworks display that lit up the night sky and capped off the holiday celebration.
A highlight of the evening was a special skydiving tribute by Team Fastrax, the largest professional skydiving team in the world. The team descended into the event carrying a 2,000-square-foot American flag in honor of the armed forces. Each Team Fastrax performance is dedicated to a fallen hero, and the MusicWORKS tribute honored Marine Lance Cpl. Charles S. Sharp, who gave his life in service during Operation Enduring Freedom.
The musical program, titled “Red, White & Blues. A Tribute to American Blues,” featured acclaimed artists Will Donato, Matt Marshak, Jeff Kashiwa, JJ Sansaverino, Khristian Dentley, and Charlyce Simmons. Their performances brought together a mix of soulful blues and patriotic spirit that resonated throughout the evening.
In addition to entertainment, MusicWORKS continues to support local education. During the event, the MetroWest Master Association presented $5,000 donations to both Westpointe Elementary and MetroWest Elementary, continuing its annual commitment to local schools.
Staged by the MetroWest Master Association, MusicWORKS has become a signature community event that reflects MetroWest’s ongoing dedication to connection, celebration, and community investment.
