MetroWest continues to invest in initiatives that support a safer, more connected community. As part of that commitment, the MetroWest Master Association has implemented an advanced camera and public safety system designed to improve awareness, support investigations, and strengthen response capabilities throughout the community, giving residents, businesses, and visitors greater peace of mind every day.
The initiative centers on strategically placed solar-powered cameras equipped with License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology and Vehicle Fingerprint™ AI capabilities. When needed, these tools help identify vehicle details including make, model, color, license plate state, and other distinguishing features that support public safety efforts and assist in investigations quickly and accurately.
The network includes 17 solar multi-purpose LPR and video camera bundles, a dual-camera LPR bundle, and four neighborhood residential LPR units, providing broad, thoughtful coverage across MetroWest. Participating neighborhoods, schools, and businesses also have the ability to voluntarily integrate their own privately owned cameras into the broader safety network, a reflection of the kind of community-wide collaboration that makes MetroWest stronger.
Together, these tools offer real-time safety alerts, searchable vehicle history data, and live video capabilities through the centralized FlockOS platform. Because the cameras are solar-powered with LTE connectivity, installation was unobtrusive and flexible, allowing for smart placement without major infrastructure disruption to the community.
